KBS Radio Broadcast, December 2013, Regarding "The
Trail Skate Park"
They're now about halfway to their fundraising goal for the Trail All Wheel Skate Park.
Glenmerry Principal Patrick Audet is with the fundraising committee. He says they're going to be looking for corporate sponsorship. They have a 275-thousand dollar funding commitment from the City, and a cost estimate of 550-thousand dollars for the park they've designed in the Gulch.
And Audet says the hope is to have it built sometime next year.
"We just have to have a place for our young kids to go who aren't in organized sports, but who have a passion for skateboarding or inline skating, where they can go practice their skills. I think it's really important for the community to show that we value our young people and we want to have a place where they can go and have fun."
They're also running a logo contest until the end of January...1st prize is an iPod Touch donated by AM Ford.
